A meeting of the Committee on Department Related Standing Committee (DRSC-II) of Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Council was held under the Chairmanship of MLC, Naresh Kumar Gupta here today.Threadbare discussion was held on various issues regarding the overall functioning of Social Welfare, Industries & Commerce, Tourism, Rural Development and Labour & Employment Departments etc.Legislators, Mohammad Muzaffar Parrey, Firdous Ahmed Tak, Sofi Yousuf and Sham Lal Bhagat attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions to make the functioning of the Committee more vibrant and result oriented.The Committee, while taking serious notice of absence of some senior officers and members in the last meeting, issued strict directions to all concerned to ensure their presence in every meeting as their absence badly hampers the purpose of holding such meetings. It also sought explanation from the officers absent in the previous meeting.
Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Shailendra Kumar, Rural Development Department, Nirmal Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employees, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sajad Ahmad Khan, Labour Commissioner, Dr. Abdul Rashid, Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez and other concerned officers also supported the necessity of presence of all concerned in the committee meeting so that the issues received by the Committee are redressed in a time bound manner.The officers assured that they will ensure strict compliance to observations and directions of the Committee and will furnish all necessary information to the Committee in time related to their respective departments. Among others Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Dy. Secretary Legislative Council, Ali Mohammad Rabat, Senior Officers and officials of Council Secretariat were also attended the meeting.
