The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of health officers to review the functioning of the health sector and inquire about the preparedness and other preventive measures of communicable diseases, precautionary measures taken by the health experts at various levels in the district.The Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara Dr Parlard Singh, District TB Officer, Kupwara Dr M Ramzan, Chief Planning Officer, Kupwara Imtiyaz Ahmad, Block Medical Officers were present on the occasion.A detailed power point presentation was displayed by the health expert about symptoms, prevention and other efforts to be taken in wake of any communicable disease. He was informed that the men and machinery have been geared up throughout the district with adequate medicine.The District Development Commissioner sought a detailed action plan regarding the measures to be taken to prevent communicable disease. He directed the health experts to create awareness among the general public regarding the symptoms, preventive measures, cleanliness, health tactics.It was decided that to maintain a hygienic atmosphere in the public at a village level, frontier areas ASHAS, FMPHWs, MPHW, DHNDS would be engaged.The DDC asked the health experts to get the services of Food Safety and Drug officers, while thrust should be given on general awareness.The Health experts also gave valuable suggestion to the district administration about the H1N1, RBSK, Nation programmes and normal functioning of the health sector and displaying of hoardings about the activities of hospitals, health officials with other information on the guideline of the government.
