 Commissioner Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, RK Bhagat on Saturday convened a meeting of Heads of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments of J&K along with other senior officers of both the departments at the Directorate of Sheep Husbandry Jammu to take stock of the working of department and pace of the progress of various Centrally Sponsored and State Sector Schemes.During the meeting progress under ESVHD, RIDF and other construction programmes and various Centrally Sponsored Schemes were discussed district-wise in detail. The Commissioner Secretary said   that the ultimate goal of formulating these schemes was to uplift the socio-economic status of the sheep and goat rearing communities. He stressed for delivery of services to the farmers and breeders more effectively so that the targets fixed by the department are achieved well in time. He further emphasized upon the officers to redouble their efforts for development of the livestock sector and stressed to work for sustainable growth and production of livestock sector as it plays a vital role in increasing the rural economy.Among others those who were present at the meeting included Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, Director Sheep Husbandry Department Kashmir, Director Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir, Joint Directors, Officers from the Administrative Department and district officers of both the departments from Jammu Division.
