CEC Kargil for healthy balance between curriculum and extracurricular activities

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today said that to ensure all-round intellectual, physical, moral, sensible and social development of children there is urgent need to strike a healthy balance between curriculum and extracurricular activities.

The CEC stated this while addressing a function held in connection with Children’s Day at Government Middle School Gond Minjee, Kargil.He also inaugurated the newly-established playground equipment and library set up at the school by Axis Bank and 17000ft Foundation under Axis ‘Dil Se project’.Khan while appreciating the concerned agencies for having set up these facilities at schools across the district expressed hope that the step would prove instrumental in providing play facilities to the students of the district. He exhorted upon the representatives of Axis Bank and 17000ft Foundation to further broaden the ambit of their welfare activities so that the people at large are benefitted.

He also urged upon the teachers to work with missionary zeal and dedication besides ensuring that special focus is being given to enhance the creative skills of the students. He appealed parents to play a proactive role in ensuring the overall development of their wards and to create an atmosphere of coordination with the school authorities.Around 104 schools, 52 each from the twin districts of Kargil and Leh have been adopted under the ‘Dil Se project’ by Axis Bank and 17000ft Foundation spanning a period of 3 years. Apart from the playground equipment and libraries set up during the first year in 2017, Anganwadi centres shall be established in the dedicated schools besides providing them with computer labs, solar power facilities and furniture items during the next two years.
