District Development Commissioner, Bhawani Rakwal along with SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed today visited tehsil Phagsoo and Thathri and convened a public grievance redress camp to listen to the issues of the local people.Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the district and sectoral officers, while a large number of people from nearby surrounding areas attended the camp.The issues put forth by the public included compensation to the owners of land acquired for road and various other projects, maintenance and black topping of link road from Thathri to Phagsoo, Cherrah, development of tourism infrastructure at Jantroon Dhar, release of payment under MGNREGA, staff strengthening at accident hospital Thathri, ration cards to beneficiaries and filling of vacant posts of Revenue Department including Patwari.The long pending demand  for acquiring land for construction of bus stand at Thathri  for decongestion in the main town was also put forth by the public besides demand for construction of a Degree college already sanctioned at Jangalwar was also laid very enthusiastically.Meanwhile, compensation amount for owner of land and trees falling under 48 MW HEP project at Dunadi was also demanded.

The people of Phagsoo area raised other demands regarding opening of a J&k bank branch along with ATM already sanctioned for the area, a filter plant and a PHC at phagsoo, up gradation of high school Nandna to Hr sec, compensation for land acquired for Thathri-cherra road besides awareness programmes by various deptt was also raised by the public.In response to the demands for payments under RDD, ACD Doda informed the Deputy Commissioner that payment will be shortly received by the department and will be distributed on priority.Responding to the demand of bus stand at Thathri, DDC directed SDM to make proposal for acquiring land under possession of sheep husbandry department and submit the same for making DPRs at the earliest. Besides directions were passed on to the police deptt to deploy sufficient number of police personnels to avoid wrong parking on highway and prevent traffic congestion.He directed PHE deptt to repair water pipelines and argument supply to the cloud burst affected families.On the matter of land compensation DDC informed the general public that under PMGSY funds are available and shall be distributed on priority at the earliest whereas under R&B Sector liabilities shall be cleared as soon as funds are released.He also directed Xen PMGSY to check the quality of work and BT on various Link Road networks.

Deputy Commissioner informed that the matter regarding filling of vacant posts of doctors has already been taken with the authorities besides he directed CMO to appoint few doctors on rotation basis till the appointment of new doctors.He further informed that for Rabi season, the Agriculture Department has received quality seeds which will be distributed to the farmers soon. Similarly pruning season for horticultural crops is also arriving, so he directed the concerned to organise awareness camps in the area.The DDC instructed the concerned officers to take requisite steps to redress the issues raised by the public and put in efforts for overall development and welfare of the public.The team of officers present included SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed, ACD Akhter Hussian Qazi, CPO Yoginder Katoch, DPO Doda, BDO Mohd Rafi Naik, ARTO Zubair Ahmed and other officers of district administration.
