Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir will soon get a new president. The decision in this regard will be taken by Party top face Rahul Gandhi.Part sources in Jammu and Kashmir told news agency CNS that during a workers meeting here in Srinagar city, the party decided to leave the matter to Rahul Gandhi.“Majority of the Congress workers have written to Rahul Gandhi that they will accept his decision wholeheartedly. As soon Rahul Gandhi will assume the charge of party president at national level, a decision in this regard will be taken,” sources said. Sources added that there are three potent candidates that can be given responsibility by party high command. These include the incumbent State Party President Ghulam Ahmed Mir, new entrant Tariq Hamid Karra and Ghulam Nabi Monga. If sources are to be believed, Ghulam Nabi Monga is backed and supported by senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.“Party workers are not happy with the functioning style of Tariq Hamid Karra while majority still takes him as an outsider. The incumbent State President Ghulam Ahmed Mir is still the favoutite of the party workers, however, party high command feels that he failed to deliver the goods as party president. Monga has bright chances as he is backed by Ghulam Nabi Azad,” party sources said. They added that ball is in the court of Rahul Gandhi and he can assign this responsibility to any of the three in coming days. (CNS)
