Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DONER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievance, Pension, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said the government is working to empower the poor to eliminate the poverty himself. Our priority is increase employability and mission is to empower youth to become job providers rather than job seekers.The Union Minister said this after handing over Mudra Loan Sanction Letters to some of the beneficiaries at a camp organised by J&K Bank here.Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta, Chairman/CEO JK, Parvez Ahmed, Officer Incharge RBI, A.K. Mattoo, Deputy Secretary, Department of Financial Services, GOI, A. K. Dogra, representatives of various allied agencies and senior officer of district administration were also present on the occasion.He further said our government is dedicated for the betterment of the poor in this country. The schemes and programmes launched by the Central Government have been made keeping youth and poor at the centre, he added.Enumerating the benefits of the welfare schemes, he said MUDRA scheme has benefitted more than 6 crore people in the country while as under Jan Dhan Yojana, bank accounts of poor people were opened to empower them. The government has increased old age pension to Rs. 1000 which has benefitted so many people who were dependent on others for their livelihood.Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of MUDRA scheme.
