Clashes erupted between government forces and locals after Army unit from 55 Rashtriya Rifles, 182 Battalion CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir cordoned off Belov village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.Reports said that after receiving inputs about the presence of two militants in the village Cordon and Search Operation was launched in the village. As soon as the Forces started search operation, a large number of locals hit to roads and pelted stones on the armed forces. Forces charged protesters with canes, however, as the clashes intensified, Government Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse them. Locals alleged that a shell landed into the top storey of a house owned by one Ghulam Muhammad Dar, that caught fire.The house was damaged in the fire. A police official told news agency CNS that they will ascertain the cause of fire.During the clashes several people were wounded. The police official said that the CASO concluded without any success.
