Virbhardra Singh Dedicates Rs. 73 crores developmental projects at Nahan and Paonta Sahib

Chief Minister Virbhardra Singh during his one-day tour to District Sirmour today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of worth Rs. 73 crore various developmental projects at Nahan and Paonta Sahib. The projects included inaugurations of new building of Post Graduate Collage Nahan completed with an amount of Rs. 25.50 crore, Krishi Bhawan at Nahan completed with an amount of Rs.1 crores, Police Station at Majra and 33 KV power Sub-Station at Barma Papdi completed with an amount of Rs. 3.91 crore.Shri Virbhardra Singh also laid foundation stones of District Treasury Office to be completed with an amount of Rs. 1.40 crore, Indoor Auditorium of Language and Culture Department to be completed with an amount of Rs. 5 crore, District Megistrate Office to be completed with an amount of Rs. 2.40 crore, building of Nursing School to be completed with an amount of Rs. 15.30 crore, building of District Panchayat Resource Centre to be completed with an amount of Rs. 2.50 crore and bridge over Kanyon Khad near Dhimami Temple to be completed with an amount of Rs. 3 crore at Nahan.

While addressing a public meeting at Nahan, CM said that students will get all modern facilities and a better environment with the completion of new building of Degree College Nahan. He said that this building was constructed within a record time for which PWD officers should be given credit. He expressed happiness over the fact that he laid foundation of this College’s building two years ago and now he himself was inaugurating the same. He said that a canteen facility will also be provided in the campus for the students. The boundary walls of college campus will be also constructed, he added.Chief Minister said that at present, there were 135 Govt. Colleges functioning in the state, out of which more than 90 percent of the colleges were opened by him. He said that 7 degree college were opened in district Sirmour during this tenure, the four colleges at Rohnat, Dadahu, Fatifatel at Pajhauta and Narag with approval of posts of necessary staff have been opened recently. He said that with the opening of degree colleges in rural areas, poor children especially girls were getting quality education at their doorsteps. He expressed happiness on increasing number of girls students in colleges of rural areas.Earlier, Principal of College Smt. Bina Rathour welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for inaugurating new building of the college.

Later, CM laid foundation stone of building of 6th IRB battalion to be completed with an amount of Rs. 7.14 crore at Dhaulakuan. He also inaugurated Yamuna Path completed with an amount of Rs. 80 lakh at Paonta Sahib and Ayurvedic Sub-Divisional office building completed with an amount of Rs. 38 lakh at Surajpur. Besides this, CM also laid foundation stones of Fire Station building to be completed with an amount of Rs. 3.65 crore, Police Residential building to be completed with an amount of Rs. 1.10 crore and a bridge on Jambukhala on Jawalapur Lal Tappar road to be completed with an amount of Rs. 90 lakh at Paonta Sahib.Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinay Kumar, MLA Paonta Sahib constituency Shri Kirnesh Jung, Chairman Employment Creation and Resource Mobilization Committee Shri Harshvardhan Chauhan, Chairman HIMFED Shri Ajay Bhadur Singh, President Zila Parishan Shri Dalip Chauhan, Chairman State Social Welfare Board Smt. Satya Parmar, Former MLA Shri Kush Parmar, President DCC Shri Ajay Solanki, Chief Architecture Shri B.L. Binta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Harbans Brascon, Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Vinod Dhiman and other Senior Officers were also  present on the occasion.
