Punjab Local Bodies, Tourism and Culture Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday launched mobile App of Khalsa Library, Canada.The library was set up in Surrey, Canada by founder of FVI Media Sukhwinder Singh Sandhu aka Bill Sandhu.At a brief launch ceremony at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh, Sidhu lauded this digital library facility and extended best wishes to Sandhu for its success.The App will help readers get free online access to thousands of books Punjabi, Hindi and English uploaded in the library’s digital edition. The library mainly offers books on Punjab literature, culture and the Sikhism. The App also offers access to videos of live recitation of the Gurbani from major Gurdwaras in India and Canada. The devotees can also get notification of the daily Hukamnama from Sri Harmandir Sahib by this App.Bill Sandhu hails from village Malri near Nakodar. He started Khalsa Library in 1999 which till date has collection of about 20,000 books. It was digitalized in April 2017.
