The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq Khan and Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen) at Samba.MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj, Deputy Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda , SSP, Anil Magotra, Director RDD, R.K Bhat, ACD, Sushil Attri, PO IWMP, Sunil Sharma, DPO, Aijaj Qaiser, BDOs and field functionaries of RDD and PMAY(G) beneficiaries were also present on the occasion.The RDD Minister informed that utmost efforts have been made to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries are enrolled under the scheme. He said a transparent methodology has been followed as beneficiaries have been authenticated through special Gram Sabhas and the PMAY (G) lists are available on internet and block offices for scrutiny by anyone.He directed RDDofficials especially engineering wing to monitor works on regular basis and said that second installment shall only be released after proper verification. He directed ACD Samba to submit lists of eligible left out cases through Gram Sabhas.The I&C Minister appreciated the efforts of RDD staff and said that most genuine beneficiaries have been selected  under PMAY(G).He said that Direct Benefit Transfer has helped in eliminating middle men and execution of scheme through e- governance model shall provide visible benefits on ground.MLA Samba and Hiranagar also spoke on the occasion. They demanded inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries. They also demanded that Water Shed Committees under IWMP may be reorganized.On the occasion 317 families were provided first installment of Rs 50000 through online money transfer. They would receive second installment of Rs 50000 and third of Rs30000 based on the work progress. They can work and provide manual labour for constructing their own house under MGNREGA and will be eligible for 95 man days of work and can also take assistance of Rs 12000 for constructing toilet.
