In its endeavor to free the district from the menace of open defecation, the district administration has identified 300 poor beneficiaries of the town for financial assistance for construction of toilet cum bathrooms.Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda today informed this while addressing different public gatherings during his one day tour to the district.The Minister appreciated the efforts of the district administration which is striving hard to achieve the target of getting all the 13 wards free from the menace of open defection.Later, the Minister laid foundation stone for construction of lanes and drains with an estimated cost of Rs.7. 40 lakh at ward No. 1.The Minister was accompanied by officers of Municipality and district administration.The Minister expressed satisfaction over the the pace of various ongoing works and other programmes launched by the Municipality and Urban Development Department in the district.Later, the Minister visited Kalika Temple Nai Basti where he laid foundation stone for Rs.13.54 lakh toilet complex being constructed near the temple.Meanwhile, the Minister also dedicated 100 KVA power sub-station to people of Deva Mai Chowk at Nomain. While interacting with the people, the Minister said that government is endeavoring to augment and streamline the power network and distribution system all over the state. He lauded the efforts of checking squads and teams for ensuring regulation of power supply in the district.
