Minister for Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Information, Chowdary Zulfkar Ali Thursday impressed upon the officers to improve delivery system and address public grievances on priority, adding that the objective of the present Government is to provide transparent, accountable and people friendly administration.The Minister was addressing to the officers at a district level review meeting at Bandipora today.
Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA Shafiq Ahmad Raina, District Development Commissioner Bandipora Sajjad Hussain, Director Food Nisar Ahmad Wani were present in the meeting, besides sectoral and District Officers.The Minister on the occasion reviewed the sector wise developmental scenario of the District and was informed that 30 Developmental projects are nearing its completion in the district at a cost of Rs. 142 crore which include District hospital Bandipora, Community Health Centre Hajin, Dakdungow Gurez/ Bandipora and various water supply schemes and road projects.
While reviewing rural development and R&B department the Minister directed concerned officers to ensure completion of works under MGNREGA and macdamization of roads manually in Gurez sub division keeping in view the weather conditions of the area.While reviewing the stock and supply position of the District, the Minister was informed that sufficient stock of Rice and other essential Commodities is available in the District. He was informed that 340536 souls are getting ration under various categories of NPHH, PHH, BPL and AAY in Bandipora and Sumbal tehsils of the district.The DDC while apprising the Minister about developmental works said that 31 water supply schemes under NRDWP are under execution at a cost of Rs.94.41 crore of which 53.57 crore have been expanded so far. Two water supply schemes have been completed during current fiscal, benefitting 9000 souls of 11 villages while as 12 more schemes are near completion.The Minister exhorted upon the concerned engineers to strictly abide by the guide lines of the centrally sponsored programme. He also asked all the officers to work with more dedication and ensure frequent field visits.
