The Member Legislative Assembly Ravinder Raina today chaired the governing body meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of Sub District Hospital Nowshera and reviewed the performance of the hospital.The SDM Nowshera, Abdul Sattar, Tehsildar, Mohammad Riyaz Block Medical Officer, CDPO, Executive Engineers PHE and PWD, Executive Officer Municipality besides other members of the Samiti attended the meeting.The MLA took a detailed review of the physical and financial achievements and the status of development works being executed to improve patient care facilities in the hospital.The BMO Nowshera/member secretary RKS apprised the chairman and members about the physical and financial achievements of the hospital.He informed that during the month of July, 2017, a total number of 13, 831 patients were treated and 4593 Laboratory tests, 282 USG and 237 ECG tests were conducted by the hospital.The MLA called upon doctors to be punctual and adopt humane approach while treating the patients. He asked the hospital management to project the requirement of life saving drugs in advance so that necessary budgetary provisions are made for their procurement.
He directed the PWD and Health officials to ensure timely completion of works and regular follow up of decisions taken in the Samiti meetings to improve functioning of the institute. He asked the doctors to prescribe only generic medicines to patients, which are available at affordable rates and also urged them to issue medicines to the poor patients free of cost from the hospital stock.Responding to the issues raised during the meeting, he assured that the matters including posting of adequate staff, provision for Digital X ray Machine and Boyle's apparatus will be taken up with the higher ups of the health department so that the public was benefited.The meeting also approved Rs 4. 90 lakh for improving the patient care and strengthening the required infrastructure and improving sanitation and hygiene in and around the hospital.Earlier, Mr. Raina along with the members of Rogi Kalyan Samiti visited all the sections of the hospital and took a detailed stock of healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. He interacted with patients and took their feedback regarding functioning of the hospital.
