Coordinator JK Government Grievance Cell (JKGGC), Tassaduq Hussain Mufti today asked BSNL to boost connectivity in far-flung areas of the State.

Tassaduq Mufti said that being the state-owned telecommunication company with largest communications network, it is the prime responsibility of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd to provide the best possible services to the people.Taking cognizance of the complaints registered by the general public with the JK Government Grievance Cell regarding services provided by the BSNL, a meeting was convened at CM’s Private Office here today to has-out the issues.Deputy Secretary JKGGC, Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqi, team of BSNL officers headed by Kaisar Ahmad Malik and interns at JK Government Grievance Cell were present at the meeting.The grievances received through the web portal www.jkgrievance.nic.in, helpline number and other social mediums were discussed threadbare with the BSNL officials.

The complaints received by JKGGC pertained to slow broadband speed, frequent call dropping on BSNL network, poor BSNL network coverage especially in frontier areas like Kupwara, Machil, Gurez, Tangdhar and Tulail, poor BSNL connectivity in Kargil and Leh districts, non-cooperation of BSNL employees and problems related to Housing Colony Sanatnagar and Hajin BSNL exchange.The Communications Officer of Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited assured the meeting that the issues raised would be addressed within a week.Meanwhile, the JKGGC has urged the people to come forward and register their grievances on the different platforms provided for the purpose including helpline nos: 0194-2502593, 0194-2502594 & 0194-2502596, website: www.jkgrievance.nic.in, Facebook: Facebook.com/jandkgrievance and Twitter: Twitter.com/jkgrievance.
