A meeting of the Committee on Public Accounts PHE of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mohammad Akbar Lone.The meeting was attended by the legislators Shamim Firdous, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Abdul Rashid Dar, Pawan Gupta, Rajeev Jasrotia, Jeevan Lal, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, and MLC, Ghulam Nabi Monga, MLC Firdous Ahmad Tak. The participants gave their valuable suggestions to make the department functional round the clock.Chairing the meeting, Mohammad Akbar Lone asked the officers to ensure that the pending salaries of employees working in PHE should be released on monthly basis and regularisation of employees should be done on priority basis.The Committee discussed and examined the CAG’s Audit of PHE Division Samba regarding inadmissible payment of arrears of Rs. 3.85 crore on account of pay and allowances to 105 employees.The Committee decided that action should be taken against the concerned officers who are directly involved in preparing the bills and drawing of money from treasuries.Threadbare discussions were held in detail on functionality of Human Resource Management wing in the Department.The Committee directed the officers that the wing should strengthen the department by computerizing the data of Gazetted/ Non-Gazetted, Need based workers, Community Participation Workers.Among others, Commissioner Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Saurabh Bhagat, Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer I&FC Jammu, P..N. Bali, Chief Engineer I&FC Kashmir, Imtiyaz A. Dhar besides, other officials were present in the meeting.
