Chief Secretary, B B Vyas today chaired a high level meeting here to review the arrangements for Independence Day celebrations across the State.

Principal Secretary Home, Director General of Police, Divisional Commissioners Kashmir, IGP CID J&K, IGP Kashmir, IGP Security and other senior officers participated in the meeting. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, IGP, Jammu, range DIGs Deputy Commissioners and District SPs of all 22 districts and other officers participated in the meeting via video conferencing.As full dress rehearsal for the Independence Day is scheduled on 13 August, 2017, Chief Secretary asked the civil and police administration to prepare for the sequence of programmes scheduled for the Independence Day across all venues in the State. He said all preparations should be made to ensure a graceful function with necessary security arrangements put in place.He said public should be facilitated to reach the venues to participate in the celebrations.Chief Secretary received brief from the Divisional Commissioners, DCs and District SPs about the logistic and other preparations put in place for August 15th Independence Day functions in their respective areas.Chief Secretary was also briefed regarding the arrangements being made in and around the venues and other facilities including transport, parking, seating, illumination of buildings, main bazars, availability of water, electricity, deployment of health, fire and emergency staff and equipment.
