The District Development Commissioner,Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened an officers meeting to review the follow up action for preparedness and arrangements put in place by different departments for smooth celebrations of 70th Independence Day to be held at District Police Lines, Kupwara .The concerned officers briefed the chair about the programmes and preparedness to be presented by them.It was decided that the main function will be held at DPL,Kupwara by playing of shahnaie waddan at 8am by information department,Kupwara .the chief guest of the day will unfurl the National flag(Tricolour) at 9am followed by inspection of parade, took salute at joint march past to be presented by contingents of JKP,JKAP,CRPF,IRP,District Plice,Home Guard,F&ES,FPF and police band besides students from 14 educational institutions.The departments of Education,DYSS are going to present 6 colourful cultural items besides dear dwelling activities during the events.The District Development commissioner,Kupwara impressed upon the concerned departments to complete the required arrangements to make the events successful and at to the mark of the witnesses at DPL,Kupwara.
The departments of PHE, Health,R&B,Ruraral Development, Power Development and Constituted Managing committee were asked to work with more zeal and zest ,dedication and co-ordination manners to make the events successful and memorable .It was given out that 450 students are going to participate in the events,the first aid health care, fire tenderer, security measures, uninterrupted drinking water,power supply besides all roads leads to DPL are being repaired renovated before the 13th of August,2017,the parade ground is ready for the ID parade and other activities. The sanitation measures are in full swing the men and machinery has been geared up by the MCK for the purpose.It was further given out that the transportation facilities would provide by the SRTC,ARTO and other agencies as per the past practice to ease the participant students from deferent destination to DPL on Rehearsal days,full dress Rehearsal and 15th of August,2017.It was also informed by the SSP,Kupwara that Full Dress Rehearsal would be conducted at DPL,Kupwara,Handwara and Tangdhār on 13th of August at 9am to review the programmes and arrangements.
