The District Development Commissioner today convened a meeting of officers of different departments associated with the convergence programme under Rural Development Department Kupwara, to review the works in rural areas to be carried out under convergence mode of RDD.
The Assistant Commissioner Development and the Departmental Heads briefed the chair about their action plan worked out in their jurisdiction with rural development convergence plan.Threadbare discussion was held with valuable suggestions from Irrigation, Sericulture, Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, PHE, Education, Youth Service and Sports, Health, RDD, NRLM, Handicrafts and Handloom departments.The District Development Commissioner asked the concerned executing agencies to submit their action plan within two days under convergence programme jointly with the Rural Development Department for technical assistance.He also directed the concerned to raise infrastructure under capacity plan which can be implemented. However, thrust was given for construction of foot bridges, sports playgrounds, plantation, flood protection activity, sanitation works, zamindari kuls, under convergence programme, so that better infrastructure be provided as per the requirement of the public for this purpose.The DDC directed the District Panchayat officer, DDOs to maintain cleanliness in their areas as the anti polythene drive should be implemented in urban as well as in rural areas.
