Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has launched its first contingent of Rescue & Relief Teams (RRTs) here in Jammu.The contingent comprising 18 teams and part of headquarters SSB, Jammu presented its first demonstration at a special mock drill. Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary was the chief guest at the launching ceremony. The RRT teams of SSB presented a demonstration which included the display of the equipments used for rescue and relief during disasters.The RRT also presented a detailed demonstration regarding Medical First Responder, Collapse Structure Search & Rescue, Rope Rescue, Building Rescue, Fire Fighting at the time of natural, accidental and manmade disasters.The Minister hailed SSB for coming up with a strong contingent of RRT, which would go a long way in strengthening the disaster management mechanism in the state. The ceremony was attended by DIG, SSB HQ, Jammu Manvendra, Commandants and officers of various battalions stationed in various parts of Jammu and a large number of SSB personnel.
