Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today paid surprise visit to Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGSH) and Chest Diseases Hospital (CDH) and took stock of the healthcare facilities available in the twin premier health institutions.Bali Bhagat went around the wards, Units of the hospitals and received detailed account of the activities vis-à-vis rush of patients, availability of infrastructure, manpower, supply and stock of medicines, diagnostic equipments and sanitation in the hospital.The Minister interacted with team of Doctors and hospital staff and took stock of the medicine supplies and general patient care. He asked the medical superintendents, Dr. Dara Singh of SMGS & Dr. Ramesh Gupta of CDH to submit a DPR for renovation, upgradation and complete face-lifting of the respective hospitals. He said government mulls to upgrade the facilities of these hospitals to cater to the increasing rush of patients.Describing SMGS & CDH as premier health institutes of the state, he said “Possibilities will be explored for their expansion to cope up with the rush of the patients.” The Minister said that the government will also examine other aspects related to the further improvement of services, upgradation of diagnostic gadgets etc. according to the present needs.The Minister also interacted with patients and attendants and enquired about the basic facilities being provided to them.
