A workshop on Goods and Service Taxes was organized for traders of Pulwama District by Commercial Taxes Department in collaboration with District Administration here today. The interactive programme was chaired by the District Development Commissioner Pulwama.The Commercial taxes officials presented a power point presentation highlighting key features of GST, Registration, Exemptions and other vital aspects. On the occasion, traders put forth their queries and sought clarifications from officials on variety of issues including Input Tax credit, tax on pending stock items and contract taxes.DDC said that GST will eliminate the compounding effects of multi-layered tax system. There will be absolutely no problem to common people and small traders or big industrialists. One of the major benefits of GST is that it will ensure transparency in the entire taxation system.General Manager DIC Pulwama, Assistant Commissioner Excise and Taxation, District Treasury Officer Pulwama, Chief Accounts Officer Pulwama, District Fund Officer Pulwama, Commercial Taxes Officer, Excise and Taxation Officer Pulwama, Estates Manager IGC Lassipora, Estates Manager IGC Khrew, representatives of Traders Federation Pulwama, Contractors Association Pulwama, Hotel Association Pulwama ,Pharmacist Association and Khidmat Centers also participated in the workshop.
