The Bharatiya Janata Party has slammed Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for preferring to dole out largesse to his 'Darbaris' and for his insensitivity towards the youth of Punjab who were waiting for some relief as promised in Congress manifesto.BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh said Amarinder has rubbed salt on the wounds of unemployed youth of the state by not caring to award employment to even a single youth in the state and announcing 7 fold increase in salaries and emoluments of his 'Darbaris.'Terming it as a 'Maharaja's Tughlki Furmaan', Chugh said it was the same government which had been finding excuses not to honour its election promises citing the financial health of the state. "The government has failed to fulfill the promises it made to the widows, handicapped, the old and various other sections of pensioners. It is the government which has failed to raise pension amount to Rs.2,500 as promised but which would manage to pay approximately Rs.30 lakhs per month to a few advisors appointed under political considerations," he said.

The BJP leader asked the Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal how Congress government could manage the largesse while it backtracked on its promise of waiving off farmer loans. The government which promised full loan waiver to the farmers immediately after coming to power could announce a relief amounting to Rs.1,500 crore only, he said.Chugh said that the Captain Government talks of curbing expenses and VIP culture but its decisions do not match with their announcements.  "Instead, Capt Amarinder Singh, as always, has thrown his weight behind a chosen few and was not hesitating to splurge public money to keep them happy," he alleged. He reminded Capt Amarinder of the plight of the people who were finding it difficult to carry out construction or renovation of their properties as the policies and manipulation of the system by Congress big-wigs had made sand out of reach.

"The government which talked of mining mafia has taken over both mining and mafia," he said. The BJP leader said the Chief Minister had been calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to get relief for Punjab citing that the state had no money for welfare schemes or for waiving off farmer loans but has gone ahead and raised salaries of his advisors to Rs.1.5 lakh. Chugh warned Capt Amarinder that his government should stop befooling the people of the state, otherwise it would have to face the ire of the people who voted for it trusting whatever the Congress leaders and party manifesto promised.
