The District Development Commissioner Shopian convened a meeting with Traders body here today at District Administrative Complex. The meeting was intended to discuss the implementation of Goods & Services Tax GST in the district.The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Commercial Taxes Officer Shopian/Pulwama and local traders in the district.On the occasion detailed PowerPoint presentation was made highlighting various dynamics of GST. The presentation highlighted various aspects of GST, concept of GST, registration, Types of Taxes, difference between GST and VAT etc.Speaking on the occasion DDC pointed out GST aims at simplified tax structure which will facilitate the “Ease of doing business”. He also assured trading units and business establishments that district administration shall address all of their concerns regarding GST. In this connection a workshop would be organized on July 25, 2017 at Circuit House Shopian for generating masses awareness about the GST and its successful implementation on ground level.
