Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that unanimous condemnation to killings of Amarnath pilgrims by Kashmir civil society clearly indicates that there is no place for such acts in the valley.“I hail and appreciate the widespread condemnation by the civil society members on the attack on Amarnath pilgrims that left seven of them dead and several injured,” Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s office said during a news conference at SKICC here.“Earlier there used to be a selective condemnation to incidents of this kind. Today, Kashmiri people have proven that there is no place for militancy and bloodshed.”He said there are some elements who are fishing in troubled waters of river Jhelum in Kashmir and efforts are on to defeat them.
Singh said that Kashmir youth are taking benefits of various educational schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and are realising their dreams in bigger platforms along with the fellow brethren of various Indian states.“Who topped IAS in last two years, obviously Kashmiri people. There are a lot many schemes to which Kashmiri youth are registered and they are quite satisfied with the idea of young Kashmir and young India as 60 per cent population in India comprises people below the age of 40.”Singh said that Amarnath Yatra will continue uninterrupted despite Monday’s attack."The Yatra will continue. Safety and security of the pilgrims will be ensured," he added."Despite the attack on Monday, the pilgrims insisted that the Yatra should not be suspended even for a day, and it should continue," Singh said.On the probe, Singh said: "No one should jump to any conclusion on the attack. Let us wait for the definite inferences and inputs to come from the security agencies." (CNS)
