Private players should help the needy students under corporate social responsibility: Brahm Mohindra

Mohindra gives away scholarships to 100 students at the first scholarship mela organized by Aryans Group

Around 100 meritorious and needy students of the tricity & Punjab finally got selected in Aryans Scholarship Mela under various scholarship schemes in technical and non technical courses held today at PHD Chamber, Sector-31, Chandigarh. Sh. Brahm Mohindra, Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education & Research Minister was the Chief Guest on the occasion.Dr. M.S. Ghuge, Regional Officer, AICTE; Dr. Kulbir Singh Dhillon, Dean, Punjabi University, Patiala; Dr. Ashok Goel, Director, College Development Council, MRS-PTU, Bathinda were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.Out of total 100 students, 25 students got selected under B.Tech course, 25 under Diploma & LEET courses, 15 in B.Sc (Agri), 10 in B.Ed, 10 in BBA & BCA, 10 in nursing, 5 in MA (Edu).Brahm Mohindra while speaking said that the private institutions involved in the education and health sector should come forward to help the needy students who want to pursue their higher studies under social corporate responsibility. Addressing the students he said that the quality of education also needs to be improved in these private institutions and should be at par with the global standards. He urged other institutions to come forward and organize such scholarship melas. Dr. M.S Ghuge, Regional Officer, AICTE while speaking said that 90% of technical education is being offered by the private institutions of the region. Considering this, these institutions should provide free education to some students.

Dr. Kulbir Singh Dhillon while speaking on the occasion said that out of 265 institutions under the jurisdiction of Punjabi University, Aryans is one of the top institution having Law, Education, Agriculture courses affiliated to Punjabi University. “Apart from academics students are excelling in cultural, sports and innovations activities.Dr. Ashok Goel while speaking on the occasion said that to fulfill the need and demand of the poor students, MRS-PTU has also implemented Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme for meritorious and poor students to pursue Technical Education. He further said that other affiliating Colleges should also take such initiatives which would motivate the financially constraint youth to come forward and achieve their goals & fulfill their dreams.Dr. Anshu Kataria while congratulating the selected students said that Aryans has always tried to give best to the society and the students. He said that in today’s world when technical education is out of reach of a common man then private institutions should come forward and identify such students who have marks but no means so that their dreams shouldn’t go dry due to their financial problem.Prof. Roshan Lal Kataria, Founder, Aryans Group; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Founder, Aryans Group, Ms Sukhaman Bath, Registrar, Aryans Group; Mrs Raman Rani Gupta, Director, Aryans Group etc were also present on the occasion.
