State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption, today nabbed an Advocate red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 7,000 on behalf of Naib Tehsildar and his Reader. The Bureau has booked all the three accused under corruption charges.Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Advocate Suresh Kumar working at Tehsil complex Bareta, district Mansa has been nabbed red handed on the complaint of Gurjtej Singh, resident of Bakshiwala, district Mansa.He added that the complainant has approached Ramesh Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Bareta for mutation of his agricultural land and the later asked him to contact his Reader Jaspal Singh and Advocate Suresh Kumar for completion of mutation documents. He informed that both the accused have demanded bribe of Rs 7,000 on behalf of Naib Tehsildar in lieu of his mutation.The Spokesman said that after verifying his information the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Advocate was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.7000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses..He said a case under section 7, 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and 120-B of IPC has been registered against Naib Tehsildar Ramesh Kumar, Reader Jaspal Singh and Advocate Suresh Kumar at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
