The Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt. Gen (Retd.) Bhopindher Singh called on Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal here at latter’s residence late last evening.Taking part in the deliberations, Lt. Governor apprised Mr. Badal about entrepreneur characteristics of the 150 to 200 families mostly of ex-servicemen of the Punjabi origin settled at southern most part of the Country Campbell Bay, which was worst affected by gigantic tsunami in 2004. He said that these farmers had suffered huge losses in terms of lives and property as tsunami had ravaged the island but these people had decided to stay there. Showing a goodwill gesture, Mr. Badal offered to help these families and asked Lt. Governor to list out their requirements in terms of Educational and Health Infrastructure, Punjab government would extend all possible help. Mr. Badal also expressed keenness to visit and meet these people personally. He asked his special principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema to keep liaison with the administration of Andaman and Nicobar in this regard.  On this occasion Mr. Badal honoured Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar by presenting a Siropa, a Sword and a Plaque.
