JKLF stages peaceful protest against killings

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with a senior JKLF member Ghulam Muhammad Dar were arrested today when police raided JKLF office at Abi Guzar Srinagar just before Friday prayers. Police cordoned the office and apprehended JKLF chairman. Both the arrested have been shifted to central jail Srinagar on a judicial remand till 19th June 2017. Despite the arrest of JKLF chief, Led by Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, JKLF leaders and activists including Mushtaq Ajmal, Javed Ahmad Zargar, Muhammad Yasin Butt ,Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ashraf bin Salam, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, professor Javed and others gathered at Budshah Chowk Lal Chowk and staged a peaceful protest against innocent killings at Rengreth and Arwani, GST implementation in Jammu Kashmir, plight of incarcerated people, NIA terrorism against Kashmiri resistance, vandalizing properties and beating people at various places especially in south Kashmir and other oppressive measures by Indian army, forces and police.Police this morning cordoned JKLF office at Abiguzar and arrested JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with senior JKLF member Ghluam Muhammad Dar and shifted them to central jail Srinagar on a judicial remand till 19th June 2017. Before being arrested, JKLF chairman while talking to media said that innocent killings in Kashmir are continuing unabated and holy month of Ramazan has actually seen a rise in this ugly phenomenon. JKLF chairman said that Indian army, police and forces are taking a sadistic pleasure while continuing their killing spree in Kashmir in the holy month of Ramazan. 

JKLF chairman said that yesterday evening a young man from Bandipora namely Naseer Ahmad was brutally killed by trigger happy Indian forces just before Iftaar at Rengreth and today at Arwani another young man Muhammad Ashraf has been killed and dozens critically injured so far by blood thirsty Indian soldiers. Even reports of many houses being blasted and destroyed is coming from the area.He said that RSS backed and inspired fascists are taking sadistic pleasure by spilling blood of Kashmiri Muslims and killing with impunity is continuing unabated. He said that on one hand Indian rulers are using brute force against Kashmiris and on the other hand NIA terrorism and GST economic aggression are also being employed to weaken and defeat Kashmiri determination.JKLF chairman said that killings, arrests, house arrests, crackdowns, beatings, hooliganism, NIA terrorism and GST economic aggression can not deter us from perusing the path of truth and freedom and despite all these aggressive and oppressive tactics of India our freedom struggle will continue till the achievement of the desired goal. He said that during last many Ramazan days’ Indian forces attacked various villages and townships and tortured men, women and children besides ransacking their houses. This also shows the growing frustration and fascist approach of Indian army and forces, who only know to kill, maim, blind and humiliate humans. While paying rich tributes to all martyrs who laid down their lives from yesterday evening, JKLF incarcerated chairman said that sacred blood of martyrs and exemplary struggle of our young ones will never go waste and time is not far when oppression will end and the oppressed will have the last triumph.

Meanwhile despite the arrest of JKLF chairman, various JKLF leaders and activists today gathered near Budshah chowk Lal chowk and staged a peaceful protest against innocent killings at Rengreth and Arwani, GST aggression, plight of incarcerated people, NIA terrorism against Kashmiri resistance, vandalizing properties and beating people at various places especially in south Kashmir and other oppressive measures by Indian army, forces and police. JKLF leaders and activists marched from Madeena Chowk to Budshah Chowk and staged a peaceful sit-in near Budshah Chowk. The participants of the protest were addressed by JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and JKLF general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid who in their address strongly condemned the oppressive attitude on India and its Kashmiri stooges. Meanwhile JKLF has expressed its heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of Nazir Ahmad Bogami who was the brother of great JKLF martyr Bashir Ahmad Bogami. JKLF seniors including Muhammad Ramazan, Molvi Rashid, AA Sarwar, Tika khan and Farooq Baigh visited Bogam Budgam and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family of the deceased. JKLF leaders prayed for the heavenly abode of the departed soul and also for the patience of his bereaved family. (KNS)
