JKPAAA goes on pen down strike, Demands regularization policy

Amid pen down strike, All J&K Polytechnics Academic Arrangements Association held protest in support of their demand of regularization policy in Srinagar .The protesters said that Academic Arrangements are the back bone of the department and they comprise 80% of teaching staff in the polytechnic colleges of J&K. They said that according to replied given by the Department in Legislative council there are total 248 Vacant posts of Lecturers from the total 313 vacancies and 80 vacant posts of demonstrators from total of 89 posts in Government Polytechnic Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir.They said that all these vacant posts are covered up by the Academic Arrangements. The protesters said that from the figures above it is clear that Polytechnics are totally dependent on Academic Staff who comprises of 90% of total teaching Staff. They said that academic staff had given their many crucial years of their life for the department even many of them became over aged serving department there are academic arrangements who had served departments for more than 20-25 years also.
