In a bid to outshine other premium smartphones, Sony India on Thursday launched Xperia XZ Premium -- the world's first smartphone with 4K HDR display and super-fast download speeds with Gigabit-class LTE connectivity at Rs 59,990 in the country. The 5.5-inch display uses Sony's 'BRAVIA TV' technology to give an immersive viewing experience and the display quality is enriched by Sony's native technologies 'TRILUMINOS Display' for mobile, X-Reality for mobile and Dynamic Contrast Enhancer. The exterior of the device has a glass loop surface which when turned over reveals a reflective surface on the back. The device is water resistant, dust-proof and reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back.Xperia XZ Premium is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which supports high graphics and performance with enhanced battery efficiency. The device has a 'Motion Eye' camera with Super Slow Motion and Predictive capture. Featuring a memory stacked Exmor RS sensor, it provides five times faster image scanning and data transfer.

This also enables a user record 960 frames per second, providing super-slow motion video playback that is four times slower than other smartphones. The 'Predictive Capture' automatically starts buffering images when it detects motion even before pressing the button. The new 19MP high-resolution sensor has 19 per cent larger pixels to capture more light and deliver sharp images in low-light and backlit conditions. The embedded High Resolution Audio playback allows a user to hear every nuance and detail. Sony's native DSEE HX technology even up-scales streamed tracks or MP3s to near High-res quality.Xperia XZ Premium's battery is maximised with 'Smart Stamina' which uses the Xperia learning engine to accurately estimate how long the current battery will last. It comes with a quick charger that charges phone to 60 per cent in 45 minutes. It runs on Android Nougat out of the box. The device can be pre-booked at all Sony Centres and Amazon during a limited period offer from June 2-June 11. As part of this offer, customers will get SRS-XB20 bluetooth speaker worth Rs 8,990.
