Unidentified burglars yet again stole an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) in Kashmir Valley on Tuesday night. The burglary took place in South Kashmir while a few days back, unknown persons had decamped with an ATM of Jammu Kashmir Bank from Langate area of North Kashmir’s Handwara town.Reports said that thieves appeared at ATM booth of State Bank of India in Islamabad town and took away the machine along with them. ‘The thieves used iron rods to uproot the ATM carrying Rs 20, 96,000” said a police official.“We have registered an FIR vide number 114/2017 under section 458 in this regard and investigations have been taken up,” the official said.This is a third incident of ATM robbery in the district.ATM burglary is on rise in Kashmir Valley. Earlier this year an ATM was stolen in Mominabad area of Anantnag district. The machine carried Rs 14,56,000 when stolen. So are Police have failed to nab the culprits responsible for the act.In April this year, ATM of State Bank of India (SBI), containing Rs 12.18 lakh, was stolen at KP Road in Anantnag district.The investigation was started but police didn’t get any clue about the incident.In Langate area of North Kashmir’s Handwara town, Rs 15 lakhs were looted from an ATM on May 26 night this month.An ATM was also looted in Hardu Abura Magam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam in October last year.  (CNS)
