The Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today extended congratulations to the 15 teachers from Government Schools of Punjab who won ‘Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar’. These teachers were conferred with the awards last evening at the Rashtrapati Bhawan by the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.The minister said that this award is testimony to the devotion of these teachers to their profession. She expressed confidence that this award would act as a catalyst for the teachers to strive for further excellence which would also inspire other teachers.The minister also lauded the institution behind ‘Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar’, Mahinder Singh Singal Education and Research Society which is giving away the award since 5 years in the name of retired teacher Mrs. Malti Mahinder Singh Singal. The award carries prize money of Rs. 1 lakh for every teacher.
