Sukhbir Singh Badal Deputy Chief Minister Punjab today urged the youth to lead the "Congress Hatao Desh Bachao" movement in Punjab, asserting the Congress led UPA government had failed to give any direction to the youth of the country who were feeling demoralised by rampant corruption, scams and lack of employment opportunities.Addressing a massive youth rally after inaugurating a blood donation camp organized by senior Akali leader Harjinder Singh Balongi near Kharar, Mr. Badal said that keeping in view the deteriorating financial condition of the nation, it was inevitable that a major change was required in the social polity of India. He urged the electorate especially the youth to ensure Narendera Modi’s victory as the Prime Minister of India if they wanted to see the nation back on the rails of development and financial stability.Expressing his strong feeling about the aware electorate of Punjab, Mr. Badal said the SAD-BJP would create history in the coming months by winning all 13 Parliament seats because the people could easily differentiate between a development oriented State and a scam ridden central government.Referring to the pace of development witnessed in Punjab for the last seven years, Mr. Badal said the development of the state had always been a top priority of the SAD-BJP government. "People will witness massive and unprecedented growth in every sector in the coming two years", he added.
He said in the coming two years an amount of Rs 15,000 Crore would be spent on strengthening the road network in the state.He also said that in order to modernize Mohali and its surrounding towns, an amount of Rs. 2500 crore would be spent entirely on improving the infrastructure. Lashing out at the opposition parties for their irrelevant hue and cry over the empty state coffers, Mr. Badal said that the overall development in the state speaks volumes about the financial health of Punjab. He also said that Mohali would be developed as a IT Town in the coming three years. He said recently renowned IT Company Infosys had laid the foundation stone of its campus in Mohali which would give employment to 20,000 people in the coming three years.Reiterating his vision to minimize the interaction of common masses with public servants by educating people about Right to Service Act, Mr. Badal said there was only one solution to wipe out corruption that was to reduce the interaction between general public and public offices by providing all citizen services through online system. Mr. Badal said that in the first phase all 147 citizen services have been integrated with the portal. He said citizen can also avail the services related to ration card and Right to Information.Prominent among others who addressed the rally included Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Jarnail Singh Bajwa, and other leaders of SAD-BJP leaders of the state.
