Clashes between protesting students and the forces took place at few places in Kashmir against the alleged thrashing of students in Government Degree College Pulwama on Apr 15.The students protested in Shamaswari Khanyar in Srinagar, Magam in Budgam district, Dooru in Anantnag district, Langate in Kupwara district and Sopore in Baramulla district.According to KNS correspondent, the students of MP Higher Secondary school today staged protest and tried to march towards the main Chowk in the area.Police however fired tear gas canisters to the protesting students to disperse them who in return pelted stones, triggering clashes in the area.However, the class work at SP Higher Secondary School and Women’s College M A Road remain suspended. The teaching work in the two educational institutes was suspended following the students protests on Tuesday in Lal Chowk area.Meanwhile, in Magam area of Budgam district, the students of Government Degree College clashed with forces on Magam-Kralpora road after forces fired tear gas canisters to disperse the students.The tear gas shells according to the witnesses were fired after the students pelted stones on a convoy of the forces on the road.Clashes between the protesting students of Dooru Higher Secondary school and the forces also took place today.

Witnesses said that army men allegedly thrashed students after stones were hurled at their vehicles in Nougam village of Verinag.They said that the students went to their school in Dooru area following which protests were staged against the alleged thrashing of students.Forces used tear gas to disperse the protesting students, triggering clashes.The clashes also triggered shutdown in the area.The reports of clashes were also received from Langate area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district today.Witnesses said that the students of Government Higher Secondary School Langate took to streets to protest against the student arrests.Forces used tear gas to disperse the protesting students, triggering clashes.The clashes between the protesting students and the forces were also erupted in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.According to KNS correspondent, the students of Government Boys Higher Secondary school Sopore and Government Degree College Sopore pelted stones on the forces, who in return fired tear gas shells to disperse them.The clashes between the students and the forces took place at Iqbal market in the town.Meanwhile, a police official said that the students at few places pelted stones on the forces. “Mild force was used to disperse the students and no injury was reported during the incidents,” he added.Pertinently, the student protests started in the Valley two days after the alleged thrashing of students of Government Degree College Pulwama took place on Apr 15.
