Giving a clarion call to the people to form NDA government at the centre, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the country needs a decisive Prime Minister like Mr. Narendra Modi to re-emerge it as a ‘Golden sparrow’ across the globe.Addressing the gathering during the Sangat Darshan program of the Dina Nagar Assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that Mr. Modi has already proved his mettle as a visionary leader by making Gujarat a leading state of the country. Mr. Badal impressed upon the people to rise above their parochial considerations and vote for the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate to restore the lost glory of the country. He said that every vote for BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate was a vote for the betterment of the country.

The Chief Minister said that due to the misrule of Congress spanning over more than 55 years the dreams of our freedom fighters to have a progressive India has not been realized. He said that the result of wrong policies of the Congress party was that today the country was facing a number of social maladies like unemployment, poverty, starvation, illiteracy and inflation, which have accentuated the woes of the common man. Badal said that in such a dismal scenario the need of the hour was that a decisive and able administrator like Modi must be elected as the Prime Minister of the country.Taking a dig at the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that the party was shying away to declare Mr. Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate so that the young scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family should not go to political oblivion after their inevitable defeat. However he said that it was writing on wall that both the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and her son Mr. Rahul Gandhi would be badly trounced from their home turfs, due to the strong Modi wave blowing across the country. Mr. Badal quipped that as the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would not contest the Lok Sabha polls, so with the defeat of Mrs. Sonia and Mr. Rahul Gandhi the entire top brass of the Congress would be washed away by ‘Modi Tsunami’.

Expressing concern over the pitiable condition of the farmers of area due to water logging in the few segments of the assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said that the state government was duty bound to find a viable solution for this grave problem. Mr. Badal said that he would soon depute senior officers of the state government to visit the area for tacking the stock of entire situation. He assured the farmers that the state government would take every possible step to extend a helping hand to them in this hour of crisis.Later on interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister, while terming the newly constituted third front as a mixture of the political parties, said that going by the mood of the nation this front was not capable of preventing Mr. Modi for becoming the Prime Minister of the country. He said that the countrymen have already made up their mind to hand over the reign of the country in the strong hands of Mr. Modi due to which such fronts would hardly have any impact in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. Mr. Badal also dared the Third front to declare their Prime Ministerial candidate so that the voters could make a choice between them and BJP.

Replying to a query, the Chief Minister categorically said that the SAD-BJP alliance has already geared up for the forthcoming general elections by announcing the majority of candidates adding that the remaining candidates would be also announced soon. Buoyed over the success of Narendra Modi’s Fateh Rally in the state,Badal said that the Gujarat Chief Minister would also address a few more rallies in the state before the elections. The Chief Minister also said that the state government was preparing a master plan for tackling the problem of properly disposing waste water in the villages and a major scheme in this regard would be embarked soon. He said that this grave problem was prevalent in every nook and corner of the state due to which the state government was seriously contemplating to eradicate this menace.Earlier, in a major relief to an acid victim woman from Gurdaspur city, the Chief Minister said that the state government would bear the entire expenditure on the treatment of this woman, who had lost her vision as a result of this dastardly act. Pertinently the girl had narrated her woes before Mr. Badal during the Sangat Darshan. The Chief Minister was accompanied by former Cabinet Minister Jathedar Sucha Singh Langah, BJP leader Mr. BD Dhupper, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Abhinav Trikha.
