Incarcerated Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday said that exemplary boycott is a ‘referendum against illegal occupation of India’.In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said, “5% theory of Mehbooba Mufti and others has today come true but with one big correction that even 5% Kashmiris are not with India.”JKLF chairman said that Indian rulers, pro-Indian parties in Kashmir and the forces cannot force Kashmiris into submission by this killing spree, maiming and other ‘oppressive measures’.He said that from last 70 years in general and from two decades in particular, Kashmiris have witnessed Indian ‘brutalities and oppression’ but have not surrendered before this ‘tyranny’.“From last seven months hundreds of our kith and kin are being killed, thousands and being maimed and blinded but the resilience of Kashmiris has not been shaken and our resistance remains steadfast as ever,” added JKLF chief.
“Frustrated by the exemplary boycott and peaceful protest across valley against this election, Indian soldiers and police at the behest of the rulers target fired upon many innocent youth at various places and killed and injured many of them. For this killing spree, Mehbooba Mufti, her government and all other pro-India leaders and parties are directly involved as they are the ones who are deployed to defend this occupation and these killer forces,” asserted Yasin Malik.He said that the rulers have become such addicted to the blood of Kashmiris that they have lost every bit of shame and humanity in her. “By constantly accusing those murdered by her forces she is proving their ridiculous behavior and callousness towards innocent Kashmiris,” said Malik.JKLF chairman said that for holding elections, the rulers have caged down thousands of young and old in Kashmir, put restrictions and blockades and even banned internet but despite all these suppressive tactics, people of Kashmir paying reverence to their martyrs and sacrifices boycotted this election and proved that Kashmiris only want freedom from illegal occupation of India’’.
He said that during 2016 peoples revolution, Mehbooba Mufti and her other cabinet colleagues often boasted about only 5% people being with resistance ,today their shameless assertions have come true but with a big correction that even 5% Kashmiris are not with India and these pro-Indian leaders.While paying tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives yesterday, JKLF incarcerated chairman expressed solidarity with their bereaved families.
He also prayed for the early and speedy recovery of the injured.Meanwhile, JKLF leaders led by district president Islamabad Muhammad Ishaaq Ganie today continued election boycott campaign in Islamabad and visited various places including Khanabal, DagaPora, Betpora, Nai Basti, Hanji Danter and Poshwara and asked people to stay away from upcoming polls on 12th April 2017.JKLF Zonal president, Noor Muhammad Kalwal along with senior vice president Muhammad Yasin Butt and senior leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt toady visited various Srinagar hospitals and met with those who were injured by Indian forces yesterday. JKLF leaders enquired about their health and wellbeing and prayed for their speedy recovery. (KNS)
