Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today underlined the need for collaboration of Government and Non Government organization for elevating education levels at the state run educational institutions and increase outreach of the state sponsored initiatives.The Speaker was addressing a gathering during a function organized by Rotary club at Government High School Deeli. The organization donated hundred desks to the institution to supplement existing education infra.Kavinder Gupta said that NGOs and Government are two pillars that need to stand tall side by side for nation building by raising the education standards.He said that NGOs can play a pivotal role in the outreach of many initiatives launched for welfare of underprivileged and support government in ensuring that benefits reach to the deserving populace.Stressing on making sports essential part of school curriculum in the state, the Speaker said that along with theoretical education, focused attention needs to be given to all round development of children. Involving them in the co-curricular activities, sports are best means to ensure their full development.

He also emphasized upon increasing the pupil enrolment in government schools and maintained that these should have facilities at par with leading private schools so that students get attracted to these. Responding to the demands put forth by Principal of the institution including upgrading of power infra, sanitation/washrooms and construction of concrete pathway etc, the Speaker assured all measures will be taken at the earliest to meet these demands.He further directed for launching a plantation drive in and around the institution.The Speaker appreciating the initiatives taken by Rotary Club for socio economic development of underprivileged and hoped that the organization will continue to partake in such initiatives in future as well.Director, School Education Babila Rakhwal, President, Rotary Club of Jammu City Ravinder Kaul, students, faculty besides other officers of the department and members of Rotary club were present on the occasion.
