Incarcerated Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday hailed the statement of US envoy Nikki Haley wherein she has said that USA can’t wait till something happens in south Asia.Terming this statement as ‘positive and heartening’, JKLF chairman said, “It was obligatory on USA and other international powers to step in and resolve all pending disputes including Kashmir because the resolution of these disputes can only ensure lasting peace, tranquility, prosperity and brotherhood among various nations and regions.”Malik said that billions of people across globe are suffering because of the international community’s attitude of perusing their foreign policies according to their business and security needs. “This attitude has actually given rise to violence and sufferings and it is the need of hour that international powers like USA rethink their strategies and work to resolve disputes and issues confronting humans,” asserted Malik.

He said, “Jammu Kashmir issue remains the main threat to peace in south Asia and if not resolved it can bring the whole region to nuclear catastrophe someday. People of Jammu Kashmir have been longing and striving for a peaceful settlement of this long pending dispute but till now international community has failed us.”JKLF chairman said that the statement of US envoy has infused new hope in the suffering people of this whole region who are bearing the burden of this dispute from 70 years. He hoped that this statement will not remain a mere statement as has been in past but will be translated into action and USA along with other key players of the international community will ensure that Kashmir issue is resolved peacefully according to the wishes, aspirations and sacrifices of the people of Jammu Kashmir.JKLF chief said, “The resolution of Kashmir dispute was in everybody’s interest and in order to reach to an amicable solution to this long pending issue, India and Pakistan must feel their responsibility and should respond positively to the offer made by USA.”

Meanwhile, JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt has condemned the statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in which she termed the youth of Kashmir as ‘mentally disturbed’ and also said that unemployment was a cause for their anger and protest.Terming this statement as ‘mental and moral bankruptcy of Chief Minister’, JKLF leader said, “People who for the lust of power have stooped to lowest of shame can never understand the philosophy of honor and dignity.”Butt said that saying that unemployment was a cause of anger in youth is ‘such ridiculous thing’ that one only can laugh on it.He said that instead of arranging and addressing rallies of Aanganwadi Workers, the Chief Minister should ponder over herself and her previous statements before issuing such ‘ridiculous statements’.JKLF has expressed its heartfelt grief over the demise of wife of Bashir Ahmad Quraishee. The deceased was sister in law of APHC leader Fazal Haq Quraishee.JKLF vice chairman along with Muhammad Sideeq shah visited the bereaved family and expressed condolences to them.
