Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that development, prosperity and the SAD-BJP government's performance would be the major poll planks of the Akali- BJP alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.While speaking to media-persons at Civil Hospital after inaugurating newly constructed building of 50 bed Maternity hospital, Harsimrat said, "The SAD-BJP government worked with the single-minded aim of developing Punjab. The state has made massive strides in power, infrastructure and administrative sectors, besides maintaining peace and communal harmony,"On Saturday, MP launched as many 27 development projects worth Rs.33.76 Crore in the district, which include seven Water works Schemes, Up-gradation of 10 schools from the next academic session, laying of foundation stone of new purchase centers and the foundation stones of development projects in Talwandi Sabo assembly segment villages.She said the government was looking after interests of all sections of society. Punjab's prosperity and development have been on top of our agenda. Our vision is to see Punjab become self reliant in all respects. We want the rural and urban areas to flourish alike. We have ensured speedy development in rural areas and changed the face of major cities, besides establishing key infrastructure projects," the MP added.She said a concerted drive to ensure clean water supply, sewerage system and other basic amenities had been initiated and the state government was committed to upgrade the standards of living of residents .Triggering the guns at Congress led UPA government Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that Manmohan Singh's government failed to curb Corruption, price rise and inflation. She said that the incumbent PA government at the centre was stalling the projects of the state and was not even giving its legitimate share in the taxes.
She urged the people to vote for SAD-BJP to win all 13 seats of Lok Sabha in Punjab in order to give major fillip to the development of the state by forming NDA government at the centre. "If the strong and decisive Mr. Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister of the country then it will benefit Punjab in a big way and bring an end to discriminatory rule of Congress," she added.To another question, Harsimrat blamed Congress led UPA government for deliberately stalling the important developmental projects of huge public importance, which were hanging in fire despite the completion of the entire work just because the Union government was not granting the permission to operationalise them. Citing an example she said the total civil work of the Bathinda Air port has been completed but the Union Civil Aviation Ministry was not granting the permission for starting the flights from it. "After the formation of NDA government in next three months, we will inaugurate the Airport on priority," she promised.Prominent among those accompanied MP include Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jiyani, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sarup Chand Singla, Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishor Yadav, SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Bathinda Rural MLA, Darshan Singh Kotfatta, Talwandi Sabo halqa in-charge Balbir Singh Sidhu among others.
