Blaming the PDP-BJP government for creating hostile situation ahead of the Parliament by-elections, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and MLC G N Monga today said that present dispensation wants that voters should stay away from the polling booths as they have sensed the mood of people.“Since the dates for by-elections have been announced, an environment of fear and chaos has been created in Kashmir. The mysterious attacks and killings have increased. In Chadoora where reportedly one militant with a pistol was trapped inside a house, what was the need to kill three civilians and injure dozens others. This way the atmosphere for the elections is being vitiated by the government itself,” Monga said in a statement to KNS.The State Congress leader said that government wants to impose boycott in areas where they feel people will vote against them. “The PDP has sensed the mood of the voters and they don’t want them to come out in large numbers. in the upcoming by-elections the PDP will be routed from Kashmir and BJP will meet the same fate in future elections.

PDP deceived the people of Kashmir and it mortgaged its conscience to the RSS’s ideology and joined hands with the BJP. But now the people of the state have realised how PDP bartered their interests for the sake of power,” he said.Urging Congress and NC workers to jointly fight against the RSS backed PDP, Monga said, “After touring various districts of the two Parliamentary constituencies going to polls and seeing the mood of the voters, it is now final that the victory of Dr Farooq Abdullah Sahib and Congress President G A Mir Sahib is final. The PDP is in sheer frustration and desperation.” Monga, who is also Congress party’s incharge for Srinagar Parliament seat for the upcoming by-polls, said that PDP joined hands with BJP only for the sake of power. “This unholy alliance has brought only miseries and destruction for the people of the state who will teach them a lesson in the upcoming by-elections.” (KNS)
