To bring transparent and accountable governance at the doorsteps of people, Dy CM, Dr. Nirmal Singh today organized a public grievance redressal camp at Billawar where deputations from village Mandli, Koagh, Madoon, Bhaddu, Parnala, Kotli, Sukrala, Ramkot, Machedi, Deoli and Phinter apprised the Dy CM of various problems.In the camp the locals apprised the Dy CM of various problems mainly pertaining to power supply, drinking water, healthcare, education, roads and sanitation. They also stressed for upgrading existing transformers, replacement of PDD infra along with construction of roads, lanes and drains.Dr Singh assured the locals that their genuine concerns will be looked into and redressed in time bound manner. He said the present dispensation is working under a well-knit strategy to ensure equitable development of the state and special stress is being laid on the development of rural and far off places. Dy CM further added that Billawar tehsil has great potential for becoming a key tourist destination and efforts are being made to bring Billawar on the tourist map.

While responding to the demands, the Deputy Chief Minister said development works worth Rs 300 crore have been initiated in Billawar constituency to mitigate the suffering of the people besides improving their socio-economic condition. He also announced that major part from his CDF will be diverted towards PHE for providing safe drinking water.During the camp Dr Singh highlighted various state and central sponsored schemes and appealed the people for taking maximum benefit from these schemes viz. Laadli Beti, State Marriage Assistance Scheme and Ujjawala Yojana besides many others. He also distributed 35 LPG connections to the eligible women beneficiaries under PM Ujjawala Scheme with the aim to replace the unclean cooking fuels mostly used in the rural India with the clean and more efficient LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).Later the Dy CM reviewed the arrangements of Baisakhi Mela and inspected the various ongoing development works. 

At the construction site of Passenger Shed near new Matador Stand, Billawar the DyCM directed the officials to check the quality of sand and bricks used in the construction by sending the samples to the testing lab and further directed them to adhere to the quality norms in a time bound manner. The sample of sand from the construction site of retaining wall at Billawar was also sent to the Lab.At Naz Ground, Billawar the Dy CM expressed his concern for inferior quality work of retaining wall and directed the concerned officials that action will be taken if quality gets compromised and directed them to maintain constant vigil during construction besides sample were also taken from the construction site of BDO Office to Charan Paduka temple.Displaying his displeasure on the quality of works the Dy CM suspended JE, Housing and Urban Development Department with immediate effect. Further to maintain constant vigil and supervise various development works, Dy CM constituted a committee headed by a Tehsildar for judicious use of public funds.Among others SDM Billawar Rajesh Basotra, DySP S S Jamwal, Tehsildars, BDOs, AEEs and Sub Divisional level officers were present during the grievance redressal camp.
