DDC Kulgam visits remote areas of DH Pora

Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today conducted an extensive tour of various remote areas of the D.H Pora which were affected by recent heavy snowfall. The DC along with the senior officers of district administration visited different villages of D H Pora including Kutamarg, Badijalan, Chimer, DK Marag, Manzgam, Tangmarg & Aharbal and took stock of the availability of essentials. He also inspected ongoing developmental projects including Laisoo Bridge, and Degree College DH Pora & enquired about their status.A number of deputations of different villages interacted with the DC and apprised him about various problems confronting them.The DC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of some of the public grievances. He instructed the Exen PDD to provide power supply as per schedule to the consumers besides ensuring immediate repairs of the damaged transformers.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Aharabal and other adjoining villages and reviewed the availability of essentials including supply of drinking water and power. He also took stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients in different health institutions. He directed the officers to ensure better facilities to the public and redress their grievances and issues on priority.The DDC was accompanied by CEO, Aharbal Development Authority, Tehsildar DH Pora, AEEs of PHE, PDD, R&B, besides officers of Police Department.Reviewing the work on Rs 2.5 crore Laisoo Bridge which is the important connecting link of DH Pora block with Pahloo is in full swing and is expected to be completed by the month of May.The DDC directed engineers to speed up the pace of work on the said project.He also inspected construction work on Degree College DH Pora which is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.5 crore and directed the PDD and PHE authorities to restore the supply of power and water for the college on priority basis. The DDC was informed that a residential hostel would be constructed in the college at an estimated cost of 3 crore for which land has already been identified.
