The DCW Chief Swati Maliwal on Wednesday said the central government was questioning the commission's work through its repeated audits.Speaking at an award ceremony to commemorate unsung women heroes, Maliwal said: "They are questioning our work through repeated audits. The DCW will continue its fight against crime even though we are bing targeted again, and again."She said the women in Delhi were desperate for help regarding their safety."At least six rapes occur every day in Delhi. Recently an 11-month-old girl was raped here. The DCW is dealing with such problems everyday.Women in Delhi are screaming desperately for help and we are working on finding solutions to their safety issues." Distributing awards to at least 30 women and some men, the DCW chief said: "Today, this is the time to glorify our unsung heroes, who have worked for the cause of women. We should take inspiration from them and recognize them."Maliwal also said that Mahila Panchayats would be introduced in Delhi."Very few places in India have such Panchayats as of now. Those are important as it helps women to resolve their issues easily," she said. She said that with the help of Delhi Police, the commission would soon start a Cyber cell. She also said that the DCW will introduce more One Stop Centres, a central government initiative where victims of sexual violence are provided assistance.
