Dubai Ladies Club Hosts Zayed University Students for a Leadership Workshop

Event provided training tools to help budding future leaders unlock their full potential

Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment, recently welcomed students from Zayed University for a day-long workshop titled ‘Personal Leadership Training for Women’. The event took place at Al Mahara Ballroom and was attended by around 40 aspiring female leaders.Blending lectures and discussions, the event aimed at making students resilient and effective leaders, capable of making a positive social impact and enabling authentic and embodied leadership traits. Facilitated by Jules Miles Lewis, a celebrated personal leadership specialist, the workshop created a platform for healthy exchange of ideas among the budding future leaders.Commenting on the event, Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of Dubai Ladies Club, said, “We are pleased to have hosted such a pioneering workshop. It is in line with Dubai Ladies Club’s commitment to promote initiatives that lay the right foundation to create competent leaders in the true sense. This stand reaffirms our faith in the young generation.”She added, “The idea of nurturing future women leaders is embedded in the vision of the Dubai Ladies Club as we strive to provide a holistic experience for women. Apart from offering various sports and fitness activities, the Club also hosts classes and programmes that fosterwomen’s spiritual and emotional wellbeing.” 

Sharing more about the workshop, Fathiya Al Khameri, Director of Student Affairs, Dubai Campus - Zayed University, said, “We are working hard to instil the true values of leadership in the minds of our students. The workshop is an integrated programme of eight modules involving 40 female students. We choose Dubai Ladies Club as a venue for delivering two of the programme sessions as we share a common goal of supporting women development and empowerment.”During the event, Lewis shared insights on self-discovery, explained the ‘act local, think global’ approach, and gave tips on energy management and personal transformation. She also discussed techniques on how to excel in competitive work environment and emergeas top performers in all aspects of life.Appreciating the Club’s support for the workshop, Lewis said, “A big thank you to the Dubai Ladies Club for hosting the training session for Zayed University students. It was a great selection for an off-campus session and we look forward to future collaborations.”The highlight of the workshop remained the session on happiness, optimism, stress management and work-family balance. In this session, Lewis underlined the necessary skills for handling work and family related stress more effectively. She also shared stories on business, sports and society, quoting motivational incidents from her own life. Since its inception in 2003, the Dubai Ladies Club has been supporting major events centred around women by means of both direct and indirect participation. Its vision of promoting active lifestyle among women and having healthier and happier female population in the country, is aptly reflected in its events and programmes.
