In view of the upcoming District Development Board meeting for the district, a preparatory meeting was convened by the District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, here today.The meeting, attended by district officers of all departments, took a detailed review of the achievements made under various sectors during the current financial year.It was informed that till date against an availability of Rs. 410.17 crore an expenditure of Rs. 308.04 crore was made in the district. It was informed that under MGNREGA a total of 602 works have been executed generating 3.68 lakh mandays, whereas 346 houses have been completed at a cost of Rs. 80.15 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) in Shopian.The meeting also discussed various developmental works being carried out in the district under R&B sector.On the occasion, the DDC stressed timely completion of developmental projects and directed the concerned to avoid cost overruns. He also asked the officers to submit the targets for the next financial year at the earliest, so that the purposed CAPEX budget for year 2017-18 can be prepared well in time.
