Minister of State for Education, Technical Education and Culture Priya Sethi today said that youth need to come up as entrepreneurs to become job providers instead of job seekers and shoulder the mantel of responsibility for the economic development of the state. The Minister was speaking at a Career Development and Entrepreneurship Conclave organized by Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology and Institute of Management Science, here today.Priya Sethi said the present generation of youth is emerging as a generation of entrepreneurs and what distinguishes a success story from the failures is that they proved themselves with their out of box thinking, leadership qualities and execution styles. She said the youth have wonderful examples to look up to, people who have paved way for the youth by setting up one success story after the other. She urged the youth to look at their stories, and find inspiration for their own stories.“Do not follow the herds but analyze and introspect what interests you and passionately pursue it with full dedication till you achieve success”, the Minster said adding that only by being passionate and actively interested in the work you do,  can you inspire the change and shape the nation.

The Minister apprising the participants about various centrally and state sponsored schemes launched for benefit of existing and prospective entrepreneurs urged them to come take benefit of such schemes and become active participants in the economic growth and development of the nation. “To facilitate and encourage young India, initiatives like credit linked capital subsidy scheme, scheme for establishing cold chains, technology upgradation fund schemes, scheme for acquiring quality management, scheme for international patent protection in electronics and IT sector, besides many others have been made available, and the youth need to take benefit of these opportunities”, she added. The Minister also urged the young female students to take initiative and step out from under the shadow of pre-conceived roles imposed on them by society and take command. She said that females are an essential part of the economy as consumers as well as business leaders and the women of the state need to also come forward and leave their mark in the state’s economic growth. She exhorted upon them to make use of the various special schemes launched specifically to support female entrepreneurs like Stree Shakthi Package, Annapurna Scheme, Cent Kalyani, Dena Shakti, SIDBI Mahila Udyam Nidhi, Udyogini.Responding to the suggestions put forth by participants at the conclave, the Minister said that government is focused on development of entrepreneurs and MSMEs in the state and promised to look into the suggestion for setting up entrepreneurship skill cells at higher educational institutions.
