Pioneering measures underway for elevating JK’s socio-economic profile : Dr. Nirmal Singh

The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today said the government has initiated several path-breaking measures in the state which would besides accelerating development also boost socio-economic profile of the people.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing an impressive gathering during Yagya at Neeli Nallah Garhi near Udhampur after paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi temple there.Dr Singh while enumerating the achievements of the government said the people are feeling the change on the ground and are getting benefitted by these. He said the people should also come forward and play participatory role in implementation of development schemes. He also urged people to give regular feedback about the status of these welfare programmes.

The Deputy Chief Minister said certain forces are trying to create a wedge among the people of the state for their vested political interests but their nefarious designs would not be allowed to succeed.He said these elements have always been misleading people by false propaganda and we should all collectively ensure that they are defeated.

Dr Singh said ever since the present government took over, discernable change is being felt by people living in every nook and corner of the state and is being appreciated by the masses. “During a very short time we have ensured transparency, accountably and also deliverance in the implementation of schemes and as well as services,” he added.Dr Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir has a massive potential in tourism sector and wooing all sorts of tourists would remain the priority for Government. He said State has its own history, beliefs, customs, values and expressions adding that no stone will be left unturned in preserving the cultural heritage of the state.The Deputy Chief Minister called upon all the stakeholders especially Tourism department and its sister organizations to came forward and do their bit in restoration and preservation of heritage across the Udhampur district of the State.  He said that Government is keen to bring remarkable developments on the tourism infrastructure of the district. He said all monuments, archaeological remains, building; shrines would be taken care of so that our heritage is preserved for future generation.
