A batch of 100 farmers of Samba underwent training at Seed Multiplication Farm Chinore and sensitized with the operations of improved farm machinery, cropping systems and plant protection measures. During the Inter District Exposure Visit under National Mission on Agriculture Extension & Technology (NMAET-ATMA), the farmers visited Mushroom Demonstration & Training Centre, Hi-Tech Green House structure at Talab Tillo, Jammu and SKUAST-J Campus Udeywalla to study the various farm technologies being popularized.Director Agriculture, Jammu, A. K. Malhotra, had a detailed interaction with the farmers and said that the Exposure Visit has been organized to sensitize the farmers about the objectives and impact points of the various centrally sponsored schemes under implementation. He said that in the context of global warming tendencies and depletion of water resources there is a great need to further modernize agriculture on scientific lines through adoption of micro-irrigation and other water saving technologies. Micro irrigation is being popularized to ensure “Per Drop-More Crop” through Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).The farmers were educated through demonstrations on protected vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation, mechanized farming, moisture conservation, line sowing and micro- irrigation for higher water use efficiency with the use of precision water application devices like drips, Sprinklers etc.H. K. Razdan, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), C. M. Sharma, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Central), Onkar Choudhary, SMS (RL), Choudhary Mohammad Iqbal, CAO, Samba, N. K.
