Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Chaudhary today informed the Legislative Assembly that 13 new irrigation schemes have been proposed for Gulabgarh constituency under PMKSY.Replying to a question by Haji Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, the Minister said presently Gulabgarh constituency is partially covered under irrigation network of 29 Khuls."Of 29 Khuls, 25 are partially functional while 4 are defunct. Partially functional and defunct schemes have been proposed for remodeling and restoration under PMKSY. Besides 13 more schemes have been proposed under PMKSY and included in the District Irrigation Plan," he said.He also said that total estimated cost of the 42 schemes reflected in District Irrigation Plan amounts to Rs 41.86 crore. "These schemes will be taken up within a period of five years and will irrigate 2935 hectares of Gulabgarh constituency," he said.
